As a Senior UI Designer and UX Researcher you will:

  • Conduct interviews (mostly virtual), surveys, desktop research, rapid reviews and shadowing (where possible)
  • Synthesize, document and categorise key insights and clarify customer needs using the Jobs-to-be-done (JTBD) framework
  • Create artifacts like personas, journey maps, job stories and feature concepts, for use in providing context and frame development for the product engineers as a part of software creation
  • Consolidate and prioritize feature requests from internal and external sources to extend the Ziplet product
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to validate and refine hypothesis and concepts for product development.
  • Refine research tools, methodologies and practices as a contribution to the Ziplet Product team process improvement.
  • Build low-fidelity feature concepts and working prototypes to iteratively refine ideas with internal and external stakeholders
  • Design high-fidelity user interfaces and collaborate closely with developers throughout implementation
  • Champion inclusive design and incorporate best practice approaches to accessibility
  • Maintain and refine the Ziplet design system / component library
  • In collaboration with the Ziplet Managing Director and Head of Marketing, manage Ziplet’s brand identity, website and visual assets

Skills and Expertise

  • A relevant qualification in Design, and possibly with Research, Education or UX
  • 3-5 years professional experience in design, UX / UI or similar
  • Sound understanding of user experience design methodologies and their application to digital design and product outcomes
  • Demonstrated technical capability designing web and native apps in Figma or similar
  • Experience working in an agile, multi-faceted team environment - or the ability to quickly adapt to one
  • A great sense of aesthetics and a passion for simplifying complexity
  • Demonstrated experience undertaking qualitative and qualitative research to support an iterative design process
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a knack for getting to the heart of people’s challenges
  • Knowledge of JTBD and the education sector highly regarded.
