About the Role:
You will be a software engineer in the Customer Data Platform team, part of the Identity and Trust organization at Remitly. You will build platforms and tools for managing the vast amount of sensitive data Remitly collects from the millions of customers who use the product every day. These would include tier 1, high traffic APIs that serve structured customer data to many Remitly product lines, shared tooling for ensuring security, privacy and governance of this data and platform components to derive insights from customer data. You will work with the Product Manager and other engineers of the team to understand requirements, design, and build new, forward-looking services. You will be responsible for their observability, high availability and reliability.
You Will:
Take the lead on multi-quarter, ambitious projects through strong technical design and leadership skills
Build, own, and operate services at the core of Remitly's tech stack.
Partner with product managers and engineers across teams to help achieve product and business goals.
Build resilient systems to detect and respond to system outages
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to Remitly’s broader engineering culture
You Have:
A BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
9+ years of backend services development and domain ownership
Comfortable dealing with a large amount of ambiguity.
Experience working directly with product and cross-team stakeholders to achieve outcomes
Experience owning and operating systems end to end.
Proficiency in one or more general purpose languages like Java, JavaScript, Go, PHP, Python, Kotlin, C#, or Ruby.
Experience building, shipping, and maintaining software.
Passion for cross-team collaboration.
