Job Description

SSENSE is looking for a Senior Developer to join our technology team. The Senior Developer will join our pricing team, which is responsible for the development and maintenance of our internal pricing and markdown engines. He/She will take complex features of the product roadmap, break them down into their required technical components, and develop them independently. He/She owns at least one component of the SSENSE technical stack and holds accountability for its SLAs. The ideal candidate will actively contribute to knowledge dissemination within the organization.

 What you will do: 

  • Product Development & Delivery: Understand the product roadmap, contribute to development planning and estimations, and independently complete complex coding tasks to deliver features
  • Quality & Standards: Write high-quality, testable, and reusable code, adhere to development standards, and ensure code is suitable for continuous integration and deployment
  • Ownership & Accountability: Take responsibility for code quality through testing and ensure the performance, reliability, scalability, and resilience of assigned technical components
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Actively review code to guide junior developers, contribute to internal learning platforms, and participate in cross-squad initiatives
  • Architecture & Recruitment: Contribute to solution designs, explain technical concepts, and assist in recruiting top development talent

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of software development experience and ability to code complex features with Python and Typescript/NodeJS
  • Experience with microservices, containers (Kubernetes), event-driven architecture, and distributed databases (PostgreSQL, NoSQL at scale)
  • Proficiency with cloud resources (AWS/Google Cloud/Azure) with the ability to operate them for the components owners, Certification would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of caching technologies (Fastly, Redis, Varnish) with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Proficiency in Git and familiarity with Domain Driven Design
  • French is required as it is the language in the Quebec province.
