Job Description

As a Senior Sales Representative, you will be reporting to the Sales Manager and will work in collaboration with the team of account managers. You will be responsible for the purchase of scrap metal products from dealers and inter-companies sources. You will also develop and maintain outstanding business relationships with new and existing customers. This position requires you to work closely with all staff and departments of the company, as well as with customers and suppliers.

What you’re responsible for:

  • Purchasing scrap metal to meet or exceed tonnage targets while maximizing profit margins;
  • Visiting dealers and industrial suppliers, by phone or in person, to promote new and repeat business, offer pricing, provide customer service, answer questions, handle complaints, and build relationships;
  • Developing reliable contact networks that will allow up-to-date information regarding buy/sell prices and local and regional market trends;
  • Negotiating new contracts with clients;
  • Using knowledge of triage operations and processing to make decisions to optimize pricing;
  • Coordinating with administrative staff and the sales team to ensure accurate and timely documentation of all purchase transactions;
  • Coaching the team;
  • Performing all other related tasks. 

Qualifications

To join our team: 

  • You have a college Diploma in Commerce, sales or marketing (or any other equivalent training or experience);
  • You have 3 years or more of experience (recycling industry, ferrous and non-ferrous metals considered an asset);
  • You have a valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • You have superior customer service, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • You have excellent math, problem-solving and negotiation skills;
  • You have some knowledge of metal alloy identification (an asset);
  • You have good knowledge of the Microsoft suite;
  • You have the ability to travel throughout the territory;
  • You have good knowledge of the different CRMs (an asset);
  • You are bilingual (French/English);
  • You have excellent communication skills;
  • You have the ability to work in a team;
  • You have strong results analysis skills;
  • You have the ability to set and manage priorities in a high-pressure work environment.
