Job Title: Senior Product Manager, AEC Data and Generative AI

Position Overview

Want to make an impact and shape the future of design and construction? Autodesk is leading the transformation of the AEC industry, integrating AI technology into our products. We're enhancing our applications with cloud-native capabilities, including data at scale, edge computing, AI-based solutions, and advanced 3D modeling and graphics. This innovation is happening across our flagship products — AutoCAD, Revit, and Construction Cloud — and Forma, our new Industry Cloud.

As a Senior Product Manager for the AEC Solutions group, you will lead the exploration and development of cutting-edge Generative AI capabilities for the AEC industry cloud, Forma. You will work with AI Researchers, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Developers, and User Experience Researchers to define and build scalable data foundations, including ingestion pipelines that transform diverse AEC data sources (e.g., BIM models, drawings, and geospatial data) into unified, high-quality datasets. You will play a key role in shaping data representations and schemas that enable downstream AI/ML applications, ensuring that data is structured, interoperable, and optimized for training and inference at scale. In this role, you will define system requirements, set milestones, and lead the exploration of how to apply the latest foundation models and other AI-driven technologies to the AEC domain.

Report: You will report to the Group Product Manager, Generative AI in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Solutions Team. You may manage a team of contractors in this role.

Location: We support hybrid work, and you work near our Boston, Massachusetts or Toronto, Canada offices.

Responsibilities

  • Apply your understanding of AEC workflows and AEC data models to develop a comprehensive strategy for the exploration and development of AI foundation models, including how large-scale AEC data is ingested, normalized, and structured into consistent data representations that enable model training and inference.

  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal Experience and Strategy teams to understand pain points and requirements. Translate these insights into target use cases and workflows and identify the data requirements, sources, and ingestion pipelines needed to support them at scale.

  • Communicate system updates and strategy to partners, including executives and other company leaders, with clear articulation of data strategy, scalability considerations, and the evolution of data infrastructure and representations.

  • Work with a diverse Research and Engineering team to explore AI algorithms, models, and technologies that can empower workflows in the AEC industry cloud, Forma.

  • Track project progress and technical specifications ensuring they continue to be accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to teams across the company.

  • Help the AI researchers and ML engineers prioritize their backlog by balancing model development needs with data readiness, availability, and pipeline maturity, ensuring that high-impact use cases are supported by robust data foundations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software product management roles, with at least 2 years of experience managing commercially available solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field (i.e., Engineering, or Construction).

  • Deep understanding of Generative AI and Machine Learning concepts and practices.

  • Experience managing teams with a collaborative and empowering approach.

  • Experience engaging with customers, executives, and cross-organizational teams.

Other Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SVPG or other high-quality product management training programs.

  • Deep experience in AI technology and practices, with a focus on how to apply AI in commercialized professional products.

  • Previous professional work in Architecture or related fields, with an understanding of the AEC industry workflows and customer problems.

  • Have a business degree.

Ideal Candidate

  • You have prior experience leading a product through initial research to a commercially available offering.

  • You understand AEC customer problems because of previous experience in the AEC industry.

  • You know how to guide teams to achieve their goals.

  • You are curious and passionate about solving complex problems in new domains.

  • You are adaptable, customer-focused, and seek new ways to solve hard problems.
