Job SummaryTYLin is seeking a Senior Mobility Engineer/ Designer to join our growing City Solutions team located in the Greater Toronto Area. The City Solutions team seeks out and solves complex problems that arise at the intersection of people, transportation, and the environment. From master planning to final delivery, we use big data and emerging technologies to catalyze smarter, safer, more livable, and more equitable places.Responsibilities & QualificationsDuties & Responsibilities
Contribute to and lead components of complex transportation planning and engineering projects including feasibility studies, functional plans, and preliminary / detailed designs for active transportation facilities, roadways and intersections.
Contribute to and lead components of municipal transportation studies including transportation master plans, secondary plans, environmental assessments, and MTSA / TOC / TOD studies.
Facilitate traffic operations studies, traffic impact assessments, and parking demand investigations.
Assist with the preparation of proposals, budgets and schedules for traffic and transportation planning consulting and design projects.
Act as a point of contact with clients and approval agencies, participate in client progress meetings and public presentations, and develop and maintain relationships with external partners.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and issues.
Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years relevant employment experience.
Licensed as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, or ability to obtain this professional designation, or similar.
Experience in transportation engineering and planning including:
Functional planning, preliminary and detailed design for AT (Active Transportation) facilities, roadways and intersections;
Applying Ontario Municipal of Transportation (MTO) and related provincial design standards and requirements;
Transportation modelling/ simulation, analysis, data collection/ processing;
Interpretation and writing transportation planning policy, including master plans, land use plans; and zoning by-laws.
Capable of producing high-quality work on schedule, while working both independently and in a collaborative team environment
Experienced and familiarity with software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, EMME, AutoCAD/ Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite.
Business acumen and project management experience (including knowledge of applicable software such as MS Project) would be considered an asset.
Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written, including stakeholder presentations
Strong commitment to innovation and attention to detail by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges and facilitating technical excellence in project deliverables.
High level of integrity, “doing the right thing” in an ethical and fair way, while upholding professional demeanor at all times.
Demonstrated experience working and supporting an equitable, diverse and inclusive team environment, respecting and valuing both individual and overall team excellence.
TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $82,000-$103,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
