Job Summary

TYLin’s Rail + Transit team is growing, and we’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer who is passionate about mechanical design, not construction management. If you love solving complex engineering challenges and designing high-performance HVAC and ventilation systems for urban transit environments, this is your opportunity to help shape the future of rail infrastructure.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do

  • Lead mechanical design for stations, tunnels, and transit facilities - including HVAC, tunnel ventilation, and supporting systems.

  • Develop contract drawings, specifications, and technical reports for design packages.

  • Perform engineering calculations and system modeling to drive efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

  • Ensure designs meet NFPA, ASHRAE, and local code requirements.

  • Collaborate with architects, structural, and electrical engineers to deliver fully integrated designs.

  • Support design reviews, QA/QC, and technical guidance throughout project delivery.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 10+ years of mechanical design experience for rail, transit, or complex building systems.

  • Expertise in HVAC and tunnel ventilation design.

  • Proven ability to produce high-quality design deliverables.

  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and engineering standards.

  • Strong technical judgment, creativity, and problem-solving mindset.

  • Clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $100,000 - $170,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.TYLin is proud to offer exciting career development opportunities.
