The Commerce Reporting team is the data backbone of GoDaddy's Commerce platform, powering the insights that hundreds of thousands of merchants rely on to run their businesses. We own all reporting capabilities for Commerce—from statically generated reports (orders, transactions, payouts) to the data systems that power merchant dashboards and performance metrics across Commerce Home, Mobile, and Terminal experiences. We're embarking on an exciting greenfield journey to build our next-generation reporting platform from the ground up, modernizing our data warehousing infrastructure, services layer, and APIs. As Senior Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of 6 talented engineers through this transformation, architecting scalable data systems that directly impact merchant success. This role blends technical leadership (60%) with people and stakeholder management (40%), giving you the opportunity to shape both the platform and the team building it.

What you'll get to do...

  • Lead the architecture and development of our next-generation Commerce reporting platform, including data warehousing infrastructure, services layer, and API design.
  • Manage and grow a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative, engineering-driven culture focused on building reliable, scalable data systems.
  • Drive technical decisions across the full stack—from data pipelines and warehousing to APIs and the experiences built on top.
  • Partner closely with Commerce Home product team, Mobile and Terminal experience teams, and Platform/Infrastructure teams to expand data access across surfaces.
  • Manage delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams while maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Develop team capabilities through mentorship, hiring, and process improvements.

Your experience should include...

  • 5+ years of people management experience, including managing teams of 5+ engineers.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript backend development.
  • Proven track record designing and building data platform architectures including data warehousing, pipelines, and APIs.
  • Deep experience with AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL, search technologies (OpenSearch/Elasticsearch), and OLAP databases.
  • Ability to balance technical leadership with people management and stakeholder collaboration.

You might also have...

  • Experience with event-driven architectures and Kafka (AWS MSK).
  • React or frontend development experience.
  • Background in fintech, payments, or commerce domains.
  • Experience building reporting or analytics platforms at scale.
  • Track record of greenfield platform development.
