A Strategic Role at the Heart of Logistic
Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers working on sorting, automation and Lab initiatives. Establish clear objectives, delivery commitments and performance expectations.
- Project Management: Manage the full software development lifecycle from conception to delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, ensuring best practices are followed and high-quality code is delivered.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal team performance and project success.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, business analyst, quality assurance and UX/UI design to deliver integrated software solutions.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and proactively implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project success and client satisfaction.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, timelines, and potential issues.
Innovation (R&D) and Continuous Improvement
- Identify and define innovation opportunities across the Warehouse Tech Vertical by promoting automation, optimization, scalable technology solutions and applied AI initiatives. This includes leveraging predictive analytics and intelligent automation to enhance sorting performance, operational efficiency, system reliability and engineering productivity across the software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate innovation opportunities through the development of prototypes, proofs of concept (PoCs), and technical experiments to validate architectural approaches and business value.
- Assess feasibility by defining and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), validating assumptions with measurable outcomes, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Oversee the transition of validated prototypes and PoCs into production ready, scalable solutions, ensuring proper governance, documentation, and operational readiness.
- Drive a structured continuous improvement framework to enhance engineering practices, development workflows, system performance, and delivery efficiency.
- Research emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies, and formulate strategic recommendations within the Lab to improve overall engineering effectiveness and organizational performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with 10-15 years of software engineering experience and at least 7 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong technical expertise in software development methodologies, programming languages (C++, C#), and modern software development tools and frameworks.
- Experience with IoT systems and Linux based embedded environments, including device connectivity, sensor integration and troubleshooting embedded software stacks.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills in French and English, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members towards achieving common goals.
- Solid understanding of project management principles and experience managing complex software development projects.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience working in an Agile and iterative development environment.
- Excellent knowledge in technologies and their trends.
- Must have a very strong interest in technology and process improvement.
- Ability to shift priorities on short notice and manage large projects while coping with demanding day to day activities
