About This Role:

We are seeking an experienced Lifecycle Marketing Leader to join our team, reporting to our Chief Marketing Officer. This role will be the strategic lead of our Lifecycle marketing practice area and responsible for driving all lifecycle communications across various lead and customer touchpoints - including email, push notification, in-product messaging, and content— with the opportunity to expand into additional channels as the team grows. As a leader on the marketing team, this individual will build and lead a team of email marketers to execute a data-driven lifecycle marketing plan that effectively engages members at every touchpoint. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, product marketing, sales, analytics, and customer experience to achieve key business goals in user acquisition, onboarding, engagement, cross-sell, and retention. The ideal candidate for this position has a proven track record of delivering significant business results through relevant and personalized communication strategies at each stage of the customer lifecycle.

What You'll Do:

  • Set a lifecycle marketing strategy leveraging all relevant communication channels (email, push, SMS, in-app, direct mail), with the ability to be hands on when needed
  • Manage and develop a team of email / lifecycle marketers
  • Steer and continue to support ongoing data infrastructure work to support the needs of lifecycle marketing and sales and support teams
  • Identify revenue opportunities and act as a steward for customer communications including launch and manage new customer communications channels
  • Develop strong relationships with product, customer experience, tech, external partners, and sales leaders to drive retention
  • Work alongside customer-experience teams to refine journey maps, while cross-collaborating with product marketing to define messaging frameworks and go-to-market strategies that leverage lifecycle marketing opportunities
  • Manage campaigns within existing and new ESP (Braze and Customer.io) engines
  • Develop a data-driven plan, setting and reporting on full-funnel KPIs (alongside analytics team) to support business goals and priorities
  • Analyze performance and growth and metrics across the funnel
  • Identify remarketing and bottom of funnel (BOF) acquisition opportunities and implement solutions that keep customers engaged, in the funnel moving toward a bound policy
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and implement solutions that support business growth by maximizing CLTV, without sacrificing customer experience
  • Champion a work environment where your team feels comfortable taking calculated risks, continuously experimenting, iterating, and executing with urgency
  • Be an important voice for the Marketing team, understanding how to hit revenue goals while staying true to the brand and putting the customer first
  • Make strong, principled decisions and influence a broad cross-functional group to execute

Must Haves:

  • 8+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, with at least 3+ years of experience hiring and managing a team. Additional marketing, communications, insurance industry experience a bonus
  • Ability to hold your own in planning discussions with engineers, coding experience a bonus
  • Experience with lifecycle marketing, attribution modeling and data analysis
  • Excellent communication, project, and time management, writing and presentation skills with the ability to confidently interact with executives
  • Expert knowledge of ESPs, SMS marketing platforms, MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Experience with Salesforce, SQL, and reporting tools (Tableau) is a plus
  • Experience setting up and improving customer experience benchmarks and processes
  • Works well with product, engineering, sales, and broader marketing functions Focused project manager that can clearly define and communicate prioritization to multiple audiences
  • Deep expertise in developing campaign-level attribution, tracking data to tell a broader story and reporting up and down to effectively
  • Effective research and problem-solving skills

The SF Bay Area base pay range for this role is $150,000 - $225,00. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, location, business needs and market demands.
