Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Administrator - Team Lead for a small group of highly experienced infrastructure professionals, focused mainly on transformational projects and initiatives. This role requires deep, hands-on expertise across on-premises infrastructure, virtualization, cloud platforms, storage, backup, and core networking, combined with a strong cybersecurity mindset. The Team Lead will coordinate work, provide technical direction, and act as an escalation point, while remaining actively involved in complex operations and projects. The Team Lead will also be responsible for the performance and human management aspect of their team.

Key Responsibilities : 

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and coordinate a small team of senior infrastructure engineers and administrators
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure and cloud issues
  • Prioritize and assign work, ensuring alignment with business priorities and service levels
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful environment that values the deep experience of team members
  • Coach, mentor, and support peers by sharing best practices, standards, and technical guidance

Infrastructure & Cloud Operations

  • Work in tight collaboration with operations teams to ensure stability, performance, and availability of on-premises and cloud infrastructure
  • Administer and support Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V), storage, and backup solutions
  • Manage and optimize core network services (DNS, DHCP, load balancers, VPNs) in collaboration with network teams
  • Ensure proper capacity planning, patching, lifecycle management, and documentation for all supported platforms
  • Drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for recurring incidents

Cloud Platforms & Modernization

  • Administer and optimize cloud environments (e.g., Azure, Microsoft 365, and/or AWS) including identity, compute, storage, and networking
  • Contribute to cloud architecture decisions, migrations, and hybrid integrations with on-premises systems
  • Support automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) initiatives (e.g., ARM/Bicep, Terraform, or equivalent)
  • Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to provide resilient, secure infrastructure services.

Security & Compliance Mindset

  •  Apply a security-first mindset to all infrastructure and cloud design and operations (hardening, least privilege, secure configurations)
  • Ensure alignment with cybersecurity policies, standards, and frameworks in partnership with the security team
  • Support implementation of identity and access controls, MFA, privileged access management, and secure remote access
  • Participate in security assessments, audits, and remediation activities related to infrastructure and cloud

Projects, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or contribute to infrastructure and cloud projects, ensuring operational readiness and smooth handover
  • Maintain high-quality documentation of architecture, standards, procedures, and configurations
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and standardize infrastructure service
  • Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and improvements

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with security, network, applications, and service desk teams to deliver stable and secure services
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding incidents, changes, and project status
  • Provide input into roadmaps and strategy for infrastructure and cloud services from an operational perspective

Qualifications

  • 20+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure, systems, and/or cloud administration in medium and large environments (enterprise)
  • Broad, hands-on expertise across Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, storage, backup, and core network services
  • Deep experience with one or more major cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS), including hybrid environment
  •  Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, VPN, firewalls, load balancing)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate highly experienced technical teams while remaining hands-on
  • Proven track record of applying cybersecurity best practices to infrastructure and cloud (hardening, patching, access control, monitoring)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to drive complex issues to resolution
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and collaborate with peers and stakeholders
  • Strong team management and development skills Preferred / Nice-to-Have
  • Experience in environments with high availability and strict uptime or regulatory requirement
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft (Azure/Windows Server), VMware, Cisco, or equivalent
  • Security-related certifications or training (e.g., GIAC, CISSP, AZ-500, SC-200) demonstrating a cybersecurity mindset
  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for operations and configuration management
