About the Role: 

The Senior FP&A Business Partner will play a critical role in driving our reporting, analysis, and insights to guide our business leaders. As part of the larger Strategic Finance team, the FP&A team is focused on delivering value through strategic, operational, and financial planning by providing data-driven insights while ensuring alignment between business goals and financial outcomes.

The ideal candidate will partner closely with Product & Engineering and other functional leaders to provide actionable financial insights into areas such as R&D investment, resource allocations, product performance, and cost efficiency. This position requires comprehensive involvement in month-end reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and KPI tracking, with a specific focus on SaaS metrics and a proactive approach to influencing strategic decisions.

A day in the life:     

  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Lead the budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts for Product & Engineering and other teams, including annual, quarterly, and monthly updates.
    • Track and forecast relevant cost drivers, such as cloud infrastructure spend, headcount costs, and product development investments.
    • Ensure that budgeting and forecasting processes align with the company's strategic priorities.
  • Financial Analysis & Insights
    • Conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in financial projections, providing actionable insights.
    • Perform variance analyses between actuals and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities to improve financial performance.
    • Provide actionable insights on unit economics, ROI on product initiatives, and cost-efficiency metrics.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting
    • Monitor and develop KPIs, identifying trends and refining metrics in collaboration with operational leaders.
    • Prepare and present monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate financial accuracy and ensure strong source-of-truth reporting.
  • Business Partnering
    • Act as the primary finance partner for Product & Engineering leadership and other department leaders.
    • Support strategic initiatives with financial guidance on product roadmaps, engineering resource allocation, and cloud cost management.
    • Conduct scenario analyses to assess the financial implications of new product launches, feature rollouts, and engineering investments.

What you bring to the team:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • 4+ years of FP&A experience, ideally in a high-growth or SaaS environment, with a proven ability to deliver strategic insights.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business metrics and KPIs; experience in SaaS FP&A is a significant asset.
  • Exceptional numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with experience building complex financial models.
  • Clear, concise communicator with excellent verbal and written storytelling skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; bilingual proficiency in French and English is a strong asset.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Adaptive and Looker is an asset.
  • Experience partnering with Product & Engineering teams is an asset.

Location and travel requirements:  

AlayaCare supports a flexible hybrid working model, expecting that our employees have a regular in-office presence at their closest office location while offering flexibility for some remote work.
