A Strategic Role at the Heart of Logistic

The Senior Finance Analyst is a key strategic partner to the organization, responsible for providing data-driven insights to support business decisions. This role plays a critical part in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance management, working closely with operations to challenge assumptions and improve financial outcomes. The ideal candidate will leverage data analytics and financial modeling to drive efficiency, cost optimization, and business growth

Responsibilities

Business Acumen

- Lead variance analysis and identify key drivers of financial performance.

- Translate complex financial data to present clear business-relevant narratives.

- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to support financial initiatives.

- Provide ad-hoc analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives.

Data Strategy & AI Readiness

- Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial reports.

- Lead automation and improving of processes using automation tool and AI.

- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and/or reports to monitor financial trends.

Process Optimization & Automation

- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes.

- Contribute to the standardization and documentation of procedures.

Leadership & Talent Development

- Mentor analysts and support their development.

- Promote a culture of continuous learning and data-driven decision-making.

- Effectively report to managers and practice “managing up” by proactively communicating insights, risks, and recommendations.

FP& A

  • Prepare expense variance analysis that provide meaningful analysis, in-depth review, and insightful commentary on weekly and monthly financial results.

  • Provide analytical support for budgeting by organizing the collection and interpretation of appropriate data from all departments within the financial operations group.

  • Assist the financial operations group in further automating and improving current processes, using advanced skills in Power BI, etc.

  • Perform insightful and timely analyses to investigate and resolve common or one-off issues related to month-end, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory.

Qualifications

Required:

        •        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,  Finance, Economics, or Business. CPA preferred.

        •        8 years of experience in finance, FP&A, business analytics, or a related field.

        •        Strong skills in financial modeling, budgeting, and variance analysis.

        •        Proficiency in Power BI, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).

        •        Ability to work with large datasets and present clear, actionable insights.

        •        Strong business acumen and ability to challenge operational assumptions.

        •        Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • French and English proficiency - The role involves daily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders.

Preferred:

        •        Experience with SQL, Python, or other advanced data analytics tools.

        •        Exposure to AI-driven analytics and automation in financial planning.

        •        Industry experience in manufacturing, retail, tech, or service-based businesses (if applicable).
