Anyon Systems is a quantum computing company located in the Greater Montreal Region with a satellite office in Waterloo/Ottawa. We work at the cutting edge of technology to develop and commercialise superconducting quantum computers. The company is rapidly growing and has both hardware and software groups to achieve its goals.

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Specialist to design, develop, and test hardware components and systems for our products. The ideal candidate will have experience in circuit/schematic design, PCB layout, and hardware troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of embedded systems and electronic components. You will be working within our Quantum Control Electronics Team to develop next-Gen electronics to control large scale superconducting quantum processors. You will focus on design, development, and testing of electronics boards including power and digital hardware modules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop hardware components, including schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, and manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration.
  • Perform hardware testing, validation, and debugging to meet performance and reliability standards. Implement automated test procedures to streamline standardized modules.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate components and materials for hardware designs.
  • Support manufacturing and production teams with hardware-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s (6+ years of industrial experience), MSc or PhD (3+ years of industrial experience) in hardware design and development.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar PCB design software.
  • Strong knowledge of high-speed digital design, power electronics, and analog circuit design.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
  • Experience with CPUs, microprocessors, microcontrollers, and networking modules such as Ethernet, SFP+ or QSFP+.
  • Preferred: Experience with FPGA design, high-speed interfaces JESD204B, JESD204C, PCIe, DDR3 or DDR4, and RF systems.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (EMC, safety, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping and lab equipment.
  • Able to work under minimal supervision and experience with product transition from engineering to manufacturing.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities, excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada or hold an Open Work Permit.

Vous travaillerez au sein de notre équipe Quantum Control Electronics pour développer l’électronique de nouvelle génération afin de contrôler des processeurs quantiques supraconducteurs à grande échelle. Vous vous concentrerez sur la conception, le développement et les tests de cartes électroniques, y compris les modules Hardware numériques et d’alimentation.

Responsabilités principales :

  • Concevoir et développer des composants Hardware, y compris schémas et routage PCB.
  • Collaborer avec des équipes interfonctionnelles (software, mécanique, production) pour assurer une intégration fluide.
  • Effectuer des tests Hardware, validation et débogage pour répondre aux normes de performance et de fiabilité. Mettre en œuvre des procédures de test automatisées pour standardiser les modules.
  • Créer et maintenir la documentation technique, y compris les spécifications de conception et les rapports de test.
  • Évaluer et sélectionner les composants et matériaux appropriés pour les conceptions Hardware.
  • Soutenir les équipes de fabrication et de production pour tout problème lié au Hardware.

Qualifications :

  • Baccalauréat (6+ années d’expérience industrielle), MSc ou PhD (3+ années d’expérience industrielle) en conception et développement Hardware.
  • Maîtrise des outils tels qu’Altium Designer, OrCAD ou logiciels de conception PCB similaires.
  • Solide connaissance de la conception numérique haute vitesse, de l’électronique de puissance et des circuits analogiques.
  • Connaissance des systèmes embarqués et des microcontrôleurs.
  • Expérience avec CPUs, microprocesseurs, microcontrôleurs et modules réseau tels qu’Ethernet, SFP+ ou QSFP+.

  • Connaissance des normes de conformité (CEM, sécurité, etc.).
  • Expérience pratique en prototypage Hardware et utilisation de matériel de laboratoire.
  • Capacité à travailler avec supervision minimale et expérience dans la transition des produits de l’ingénierie à la production.
  • Forte capacité de travail en équipe, excellentes compétences organisationnelles et communicationnelles.
