How You Will Contribute
We are seeking an influential and strategic Senior Director of Integrated Business Planning to lead and elevate our end-to-end Supply Chain planning processes. This individual will play a critical role in shaping how we balance supply, demand, and inventory to drive business performance, improve service levels, and optimize working capital. The ideal candidate is a trusted people leader with deep supply chain knowledge, the ability to synthesize vast amounts of data into meaningful insights and actions, and a proven track record of driving organizational change in complex environments.

The Must Haves

  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing execution of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)  and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes aligning supply, demand, and inventory plans across the business.
  • Lead the development of S&OP meeting agendas, content, and executive reviews, driving decision-making on critical business trade-offs
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner and trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating business objectives into actionable planning strategies.
  • Develop and implement best-in-class demand, supply, and inventory planning processes that drive improved forecast accuracy, optimized inventory, and service performance.
  • Influence cross-functional partners at all levels, building alignment and driving change across the organization to embed integrated planning capabilities.
  • Synthesize large volumes of data into clear, actionable insights that inform decision-making and improve business outcomes.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting frameworks that measure planning performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Finance, Commercial, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment between demand, supply, and financial plans.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability, building and developing a high-performing team of planning professionals.
  • Act as a champion for process transformation and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance planning capabilities and systems.
  • Deliver compelling, data-driven presentations to audiences at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Planning with deep expertise in demand planning, supply planning, and inventory management.
  • Proven experience as a trusted people leader, with a track record of building, developing, and empowering high-performing teams.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to align stakeholders, drive cross-functional collaboration, and lead through ambiguity.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and actions.
  • Experience implementing or operating within Integrated Business Planning (IBP) or Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Executive-level presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear, concise manner.
  • Proficiency in supply chain planning tools (e.g., Kinaxis, Anaplan) and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.

The annual pay range for this position is $161,700 - $258,300 CAD

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
