As a senior data science advisor, you provide the data needed to make business decisions, develop solutions and services adapted to business issues and operational process optimization research. You had a leadership role with our business partners in projects developing models adapted to various business needs, and in strategic and complex interventions in advanced analytics and artificial intelligence. You help solve business problems that have a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity, including claims management, and that require use of multiple data sources and comprehensive and detailed analysis and understanding of the property and casualty insurance industry. You interact with many colleagues, partners and clients from a wide range of fields, to understand and communicate issues and influence decision-making. More specifically, you will be required to:
Oversee data mining, evaluation, feature engineering, quality inspection and adjustment of available data, and the selection of predictors for a wide range of complex predictive modeling mandates
Analyze client and partner business needs, generate hypotheses, and lead mandates, taking into account the specifics of their operationalization and ensuring coordination during the rollout
Use advanced statistical, machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to use data, and develop and optimize models and segmentations that meet business needs
Create the programming needed to prepare and mine data, and develop, evaluate, support, roll out and manage highly complex models
Prepare easy-to-understand presentations and data visualizations to support the sector's business decisions when presented to management for consideration
Draft guidelines and data modeling methods, ensure specifications for optimal model performance are met, help develop documentation, and prepare and deliver training
Identify opportunities to improve rules and systems, anticipate underlying impacts of changes and make enhancements to data management tools

What you bring to the table
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, computer science or a related field
At least six years of relevant experience in data science and predictive model development
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Knowledge of French is required
Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
Mastery of at least one data analytics programming language (Python or R) and one data manipulation language (SAS or SQL)
Mastery in statistical approaches and machine learning methods (regression, decision trees, SVM, gradient reinforcement machines, clustering, neural networks, overall methods, etc.)
Practical knowledge of leading data science libraries (machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, visualization)
