At Pennylane, every decision that is not backed by data is likely to be challenged (when data is available of course). The role of the data team is to make this possible by treating data like a production asset, making it available company-wide, and using it proactively to improve Pennylane’s user experience.
By joining us as a Senior Data Analyst, you will have a pivotal role in large projects, bringing your business sense and analytical thinking to help us meet our high delivery standards.

HOW you will contribute to the company
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be part of the Science & Analytics team focused on Product topics (5+ people), inside the Data department (40+ people).
You will proactively use data to identify opportunities to grow our product or improve user experience and delivery processes.
You will be a real sparring partner for Product leaders, feeding their strategy by anticipating the most important questions, and leveraging your analytical and statistical skills to answer them.
You will steer decision‑making in your Product area through rigorous analyses, navigating ambiguity and collaborating across domains when needed.
You will contribute to our self‑service approach to analytics by understanding Product partners’ needs and promoting a data‑driven culture. You will contribute directly to data models in the data warehouse (using dbt) used by Product teams.
You will contribute to shaping the Data Engineering roadmap to deliver the best experience for your colleagues on the data platform.

WHAT you can expect from your life at Pennylane

Within one month:
You will learn everything about our company, our teams, and our vision during the first onboarding week.
You will get familiar with our stack, and have delivered a few small projects which will give you a concrete taste of our tools & processes.
You will be given time to meet your future stakeholders, and gain a deep knowledge of the Product area you support.

Within 3 months:
You will be fully in charge of supporting a Product area, prioritizing your topics with its decision makers.
You will be confortable with our technical stack (Python, Redshift, DBT).
You will contribute to larger cross-company projects.

Within 6 months:
You will proactively contribute to the team’s roadmap.
You will work with engineers and data practitioners on improving our stack and data platform.
You will share your learnings and best practices within the team.

And beyond: the data team will continue growing with the company

Who are we looking for?
You’re the right candidate if you:
Have had previous experiences as Data Analyst, ideally in scale-up environments (5-6 years)
Are seasoned working with SQL, DBT and data visualization tools
Are comfortable collaborating with Product Managers and Designers, as well as engineering partners, beyond the data team
You have a strong business acumen and are seen as a trusted partner by your business stakeholders
Have strong communication skills and are capable of articulating your ideas clearly
Are Fluent in English - French is a plus

If you are based in France, you will have a French contract following French regulation on top of the additional perks : 6 to 12 RTT, 5 weeks PTOs, lunch credits (Swile), Alan Blue healthcare cover and regular events in cities where Pennylaners are mostly presents (Lyon, Bordeaux, Nantes…)
We're working on providing those last advantages to our people based outside of France as well, but it can be quite more complex depending on different countries.
