About the Role

As a Senior Copywriter, you'll help craft writing for a major tech and social client with a special focus on gaming, music, and entertainment. You’ll work individually and with your leads on a combination of daily copy needs, as well as larger concepting and brainstorming assignments.

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about music, gaming, influencer and creator culture, and content. This person will have a deep knowledge of gaming, music genres and fandoms, creators and digital trends, with an emphasis on social trends. An understanding of how Gen Z speaks and thinks is also a plus. Strong writing skills are required, and you must be able to distill the information down into very few words, offering clear, concise, and appealing copy while being able to proofread and edit the work of others.

Responsibilities:
  • Copywriting across multiple accounts that sit under one client
  • Concepting and brainstorming
  • Leveraging AI for copy and concepting as much as possible
  • Potentially helping to create tone of voice playbooks and other analyses of brand copy tone and execution.
  • Supporting the copywriting team for key client pitches and presentations.
About YouThe essentials:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience writing in an advertising environment (agency or brand-side), with an emphasis on social.
  • Excellent writing skills that reflect a brand’s objectives and current cultural trends.
  • Experience writing for social media and digital/social videos.
  • A passion for social media is a must, as well as an understanding of social media audiences and how to differentiate copy across platforms, specifically YouTube, Twitter,Instagram, Threads, and TikTok.
  • Experience identifying emerging trends, specific to copy, memes, gaming, music, culture, and everything in between, with an eye for translating these worlds for brands.
  • Deep knowledge of the internet, YouTube content, and online creators.
  • Experience in copy editing, with the ability to proofread and rewrite one’s own copy until it’s approved and ready.
  • A collaborative spirit and an openness to notes are key to success on this team.
  • The ability to work alone, producing multiple copy options from client prompts, and to proactively take on work based on client communications will be critical.
  • A professional, personable, and fun personality with a passion for building lasting relationships with clients.
  • Proficient in Google tools, including Gmail and Google services (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, creative, and social environment. 
Not a must, but a plus:
  • Proficient in AI tools, with an emphasis on Google AI tools (including Gemini, NotebookLM and others) is a plus
  • A genuine passion for AI is a huge

What We Offer

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

$80,000$90,000 CAD
