ABOUT YOUR ROLEAs a Senior Analyst, Investment Finance (Accounting), you’ll:
Oversee new deals creation in the investment accounting system
Conduct complex analyses by reviewing investment documentation to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for new investments
Oversee daily cash activity and cash reconciliation processes
Review and approve transactions related to private market investments in the accounting system.
Participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual valuation process of the investments
Prepare complete, accurate and timely information and analyses for accounting, reporting and management purposes, at month end, quarter end, year-end and on an ad-hoc basis
Prepare analyses and reporting related to management/performance fees
Collaborate with other departments to prepare the financial statements, MD&A and quarterly report.
Assist in the annual audit with respect to valuation and reporting of investments operations
Assist in department initiative and special projects
Assist in various other tasks specific to the team’s activities including ad-hoc requests
Build strong and professional relationship with our internal business partners
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting
Professional designation (CPA) is required
Minimum five (5) years related working experience
Experience in financial services or private investment sector is an asset
Excellent knowledge of Excel and ability to quickly master computer systems
Good understanding of private or public market investment operations is an asset
Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance
Team spirit and ability to work in a high-performance culture
Highly organized, multitasking skills and time management
Adaptability and flexibility
High degree of professionalism with strong spoken and written communication skills
Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
