Future Opportunity Posting: We are proactively building a pool of qualified candidates for anticipated hiring needs. There is no immediate opening at this time, but candidates who align with our needs may be contacted as opportunities arise.

🌎 About Us

NPX partners with nuclear utilities and new reactor projects to unlock performance through innovation. We combine decades of nuclear operations expertise with AI, digital tools, and Lean processes to help plants run safer, smarter, and more cost-effectively.

As an innovation partner, we’re scaling this expertise into production-grade SaaS products, bringing our solutions to clients across Canada, the U.S., and globally.

🧠 The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior AI Developer who enjoys both designing systems and implementing them in production code. You’ll play a key role in building and shipping enterprise-grade AI products under our SaaS product, a platform designed to automate nuclear workflows to support efficient operations for a sustainable future in the industry. This role sits at the intersection of AI system design, backend engineering, and real-world delivery.

If you enjoy taking an idea from whiteboard → working code → deployed system, this role is for you.

Tech Stack: React, Next.js, Python, Azure, Minio, Weaviate, Ollama, Postgres, Redis

Salary Range: $130–160k (exact compensation may vary).

🎯 What You’ll Drive
  • Design end-to-end AI system architectures (e.g., Agent-based systems) and implement core components in production code.

  • Build, test, and maintain retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, including GraphRAG and emerging approaches (e.g. OmniRAG).

  • Develop backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that integrate AI models into real workflows.

  • Write and maintain Python code daily, using Azure’s AI SDK and cloud-native services.

  • Implement AI-powered workflows such as:

  • Document digitization and classification

  • Data vectorization and semantic search

  • Content generation and summarization

  • Prepare, structure, and validate training and evaluation datasets with production constraints in mind.

  • Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.

  • Help raise the bar for engineering quality across the team through example.

✨ What You Bring
  • Results & Impact: You ship working software that delivers measurable value.

  • Hands-On Leadership: You lead by building, not just by advising.

  • Adaptability & Growth: You enjoy learning and applying new tools that work in production.

  • Initiative & Ownership: You take ideas from concept to completion.

  • Cultural Amplification: You strengthen the team through collaboration and craftsmanship

🌿 What You’ll Find Here

To do great work, you need to be well in mind, body, and soul. At NPX, we design our environment around the whole person, not just the job they do.

  • 🧠 Mind: Tools and support for mental wellness, professional growth, and financial security.

  • 🧘‍♀️ Body: Health coverage, a spending account, and the freedom to rest and recharge.

  • 🌀 Soul: Meaningful work, alignment with your values, and time to refresh with time off.

  • 💰👀 Financial wellbeing? Covered. That means competitive pay and recognition for the impact you make.

NPX provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities.

💬 Pssst. Just a heads up that we use AI to help in the filtering of candidates based on job-specific criteria. Humans decide who to move forward, and this way we're able to spend more of our time supporting our candidates directly.
