POSITION OVERVIEW

Senior Advisor will be part of the Impact Team, reporting to the Director, Impact, under the leadership of the VP of Continuous Improvement and Impact. The Impact team identifies and capitalizes on future opportunities across the organization, driving innovation and growth for tomorrow. Our mission is to drive strategic transformation and deliver innovation initiatives (i.e. go-to-market strategies, new programs and new solutions embracing disruptive technologies such as AI, etc.) that are aligned with organizational objectives.

As a member of the Impact team, you would be working with stakeholders and senior leaders across BDC, to articulate strategies, develop new solutions, and support experimentation and testing of the new approaches to help BDC achieve its strategic vision.

The Senior Advisor we are looking for is a change agent, a problem solver, a high achiever. They are structured, efficient and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

To succeed in this role, an entrepreneurial/start up mindset will be essential – you will need to be resourceful, proactive, and willing to find creative ways to remove obstacles and to accomplish teams’ deliverables in a timely manner. Ultimately, the person we are looking for is a trusted advisor that understands the business and provides real time support, analysis and added value to assist in decision making. 

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Collaborate with internal client team members, making an effort to build rapport and get to know them and motivating internal client team members to engage and contribute

  • Prepare and lead internal problem solving by engaging and challenging colleagues and internal teams

  • Lead development of cohesive, structured, and clear storylines and communications by turning information into insights

  • Develop and execute detailed workplans while controlling quality of work and engaging relevant stakeholders to meet project commitments and communicate progress to stakeholders

  • Understand risks and engage in risk discussions by raising concerns and escalating them when needed while operating ethically and demonstrating sound judgement, and seeking guidance from leaders when required

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, Master’s degree an asset

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in diagnosing challenges, co-creating solutions, and building support and consensus for their implementation. Previous experience may include, but is not limited to: Consulting, Product Management, Strategy, Corporate Development

  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen who is capable of driving and influencing business performance

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to manage time well to meet responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment

  • Ability to build and deliver PowerPoint presentations in a structured and audience relevant manner

  • Ability to work with Excel to analyze and interpret data to extract insights and develop recommendations

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and workplaces is an asset

  • Bilingualism (English + French) is an asset
