We are seeking a Senior Advisor, Corporate Events, to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to work on-site three days a week at our downtown Montreal office. This role entails the comprehensive planning and management of professional-level meetings and corporate events, from initial concept through to final execution. The Senior Advisor will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all events are executed successfully and align with our strategic business objectives.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning and Development
- Develop and implement event strategies and corporate donations and sponsorships aligned with the organization's objectives.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and provide strategic advice to management on issues related to events, sponsorships, and donations.
- Offer recommendations based on best practices and trends.
- Create comprehensive event plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Liaise between the Global Relations team and the Wavemakers social committee, assisting them in developing event concepts that promote employee engagement, ESG and DEI initiatives.
- Monitor expenses and ensure all activities adhere to the allocated budget.
- Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance the quality and efficiency of events.
Execution
- Oversee the planning and execution of corporate events, ensuring all logistical aspects are managed efficiently.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Engagement and Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact regarding events, providing regular updates and strategic advice.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners and vendors.
- Ensure clear and effective communication at all levels of the organization.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure event success.
- Ensure all events, donations, and sponsorships comply with relevant regulations and organizational policies.
- Ensure all agreements are documented and comply with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
Brand and Reputation Management
- Ensure events align with the organization's brand and values.
- Develop strategies to enhance the organization's reputation through sponsorships and donations.
- Monitor and manage perceptions and feedback related to events, donations, and sponsorships.
- Prepare reports on the results and impact of Wavemakers events, highlighting their contribution to ESG and DEI objectives.
