As senior capital monitoring and adequacy advisor, Integrated Risk Management Framework, you play a key role in guiding the future of our organization. You work in the Risk Management Executive Division with a number of colleagues on complex cross-sector strategic projects and initiatives. You lead and influence players from across the organization. Your proactive approach and ability to manage multiple files at the same time are essential in this role. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Design and implement a structured capital monitoring program, including establishing the approaches, indicators and monitoring mechanisms.

  • Perform effective challenges of capital management initiatives and practices for Desjardins and its subsidiaries, particularly with respect to major transactions, setting the target capital structure, the capitalization plan and internal control mechanisms for the regulatory capital ratio production process.

  • Carry out monitoring work on capital allocation and use optimization.

  • Carry out monitoring to ensure that capital is factored into decision-making and processes.

  • Help update and improve internal capital adequacy assessment programs for Desjardins and its subsidiaries (ICAAP).

  • Monitor the market to understand and anticipate regulatory trends and developments in terms of capitalization and their impacts on the organization.

  • Represent your unit on multidisciplinary capital-related working groups and committees.

  • Support your colleagues on a number of strategic files, including remediation and resolution plans, and the risk appetite framework for Desjardins and its subsidiaries.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • At least eight years of relevant experience in risk management roles, preferably in the financial industry

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience in capital management (allocation, optimization, ICAAP)

  • Experience in executive writing and presenting

  • Knowledge of French is required

  • Knowledge of sound risk management practices and regulations applicable to Quebec and Canadian financial institutions, particularly Basel III and IV standards
