Purpose of the Role:

The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the firm’s financial integrity and operational success. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, this role is involved in all aspects of reporting, including management reporting of financial statements, regulatory reporting, year-end audit reporting, consolidation, cash flow, and tax reporting. The Senior Accountant provides professional and insightful support to the Manager, Corporate Accounting and the Finance Management Team and proactively seeks opportunities to enhance financial systems, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement.  

This is a hybrid role, based in our Vancouver offices.  

Core Responsibilities:
  • Prepare month end working papers and journal entries for various corporate entities.   
  • Prepare monthly cashflow statements and cashflow forecasts including creating new templates.  
  • Review lease contracts and account for leases under IFRS 16.  
  • Own and maintain balance sheet reconciliation for accounts such as prepaids, fixed assets, and long-term investments.  
  • Prepare consolidation entries and assist with FS consolidation process.   
  • Ensure accurate allocation of advisor, contractor, and pool compensation in alignment with different fee structures and agreements.  
  • Reconcile bank charges and prepare monthly GST return.  
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support year end reviews and audits.  
  • Create process documentation and drive improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.  
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience.   
  • CPA designation and audit experience preferred.    
  • Full-cycle financial statement preparation experience required.  
  • Experience creating cashflows or balance sheet reconciliations is an asset.  
  • Familiarity with Workday Finance, Workday Adaptive Planning accounting software and SAP Concur software would be an asset. 
Compensation & Benefits Package:

This position comes with a base salary range of $85,000 - $95,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
