We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team! Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional accounting, finance, and operational services to the organization. You'll achieve this by effectively completing day-to-day accounting and month-end close activities, as well as providing timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.

In this role you can expect to

  • Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Prepare working papers for month-ends, quarterly interim reviews, and annual audits
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis of financial data and internal MD&A
  • Prepare quarterly reporting packages and financial statements for reviews and audits
  • Performing IFRS research and prepare technical accounting memos as needed
  • Ensure that accounting procedures performed comply with IFRS requirements and Company policies
  • Process complex journal entries for complex events/transactions
  • Complete regular recording and reporting responsibilities timely and accurately
  • Record intercompany transactions and reconciling intercompany balances
  • Support the AP team for bi-weekly pay runs by reviewing and approving AP bills for accuracy, and reviewing and approving expense reports to ensure that expenses are compliant with Company policies
  • Support Assistant Controller with providing external consultants with ad hoc document requests for audits and tax filings

  • Process and Systems:
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects, including ERP upgrades, process automation, and system implementations
  • Continuously review and refine processes and systems based on performance data, user feedback, and evolving business needs
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to streamline processes
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the team as required
  • Support the team with other ad-hoc task

  • ICFR related Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the Assistant Controller and Compliance Manager with maintaining and enhancing ICFR to ensure strong ITGC, ELC and business processes related to key areas of responsibility
  • Ensure accurate and updated process documentation of key processes related to key areas of responsibility
  • Ensure processes performed are in compliance with Company policies and processes
  • Support SOX audit requests as required throughout the year

To be successful in this role, your background includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA,CA or equivalent qualification (or successful completion of CFE)
  • 3+ years of experience, preferably within the tech industry, gaming or SaaS company of medium to large size 
  • Experience in public practice is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of IFRS or US GAAP
  • Experience with SOX is an asset
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in researching and preparing technical accounting memos
  • A strong history of being a self-starter, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
