Who We Want

The Coverage team is growing at a rapid pace. With 15 reps currently and temp hiring depending on where the freight market is at at any given time. A Coverage Lead will be heavily involved in supporting coverage specialists in all offices in areas such as personnel management, daily execution and innovation for the department.     You will be an integral partner across the organization, working cross functionally with the Carrier Capacity and Biz Dev teams to ensure an unwavering commitment to Customer Obsession is met

What You'll Do

    Weekday duties:

  • Train/Coach/Mentor young tenured reps in the department, particularly out of our satellite offices 

  • Assist with team personnel performance management

  • Playing an active role in the hiring process for our team. I.e. interviewing candidates, selecting qualified candidates for the role, etc. 

  • True go-getter and sales leader 

  • Ability to self-motivate and drive team productivity daily 

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Assess workload and delegate responsibilities

  • Willingness to proactively communicate problematic lanes, process, and additional pain points to business stakeholders

  • Regularly report to leadership on team’s metrics, identify trends and propose action as necessary 

  • Creating Work Schedule to provide maximum coverage

  • Control Load postings and help negotiate offers from carriers

  • Communicate effectively with Biz Dev Department about Contracted freight

  • Help Accounting retrieve documents for Carrier payment

  • Service Management and reporting for Teams as well as Company performance

  • Continuous training on Coverage/Sales 

  • Training Reps for future roles (Carrier and Ops)

  • Coordinate Special projects

  • Weekend & After Hour Management:

  • Preparing for weekend shifts by confirming Carrier and Customer teams rosters 

  • Creating documents and spreadsheets for Load management and rate approvals

  • Point of contact for Carrier/ Customer Reps, Managers and Seniors

  • Reporting Weekend activities

  • Make sure the freight that needs to move is moved by end of the weekend

Qualifications

  • 3+ years work experience

  • 1+ years of experience working in Logistics; sales preferred 

  • Ability to sell into unique scenarios that are continuously evolving

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has supervisory responsibility.
