As a graduate from a maritime institute, you start working on DEME vessels as Second Mate Training. You have your STCW II/4 certificate in hand and collected by preference some sailing time during your studies to enhance towards II/1 and II/2Your responsibilities

You work on board a TSHD, CSD or split barge under the Second Mate’s supervision

You learn about the dredging process on deck and on the bridge

You contribute to the performance of the operational activities and the optimization of production

You update navigation charts and books
Your profile

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nautical sciences or you followed an 'MBO-4' or ‘HBO’ education in a maritime academy or nautical institute

You hold at least a II/4 COC (Certificate of Competency in accordance with the international convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers 1995)

You speak and write fluent English

You are flexible to work on projects in Belgium and around the world

You have a valid Passport, Seaman's Book, Seafarers Medical

You have a strong awareness of Health, Safety and Environment

You have a hands-on and no nonsense mentality
