Job Description:

A Quebec-based insurance company is seeking a Scrum Master for a technically strong delivery team, whose main focus is on improving its organizational and process structure.

  • The core of the role is to lead the team's organization: building and monitoring the backlog, ensuring alignment, and maintaining the delivery pace. The Scrum Master collaborates with other Scrum Masters, the RTE (Resource Technology Engineer), and analysts on continuous improvement projects that extend beyond their own team. The team is dynamic and close-knit, so soft skills are just as important as experience.
  • The focus of the role has shifted: the client is no longer primarily looking for the Scrum mechanics, but rather someone to manage the organization of a technically strong team that is less structured in terms of processes.
  • The priority is structuring the backlog, tracking progress, aligning it with the project schedule, and maintaining momentum. The individual works with other Scrum Masters, the RTE (Resource Technology Engineer), and the DAs (Development Assistants) on continuous improvement projects that extend beyond their own team.
  • Soft skills are as important as experience: autonomy, resourcefulness, the ability to work independently without all the information, and a personality that integrates well into a dynamic team. An understanding of the IT context is expected to ensure credible communication with senior technical profiles who lack business domain expertise.

Requirements
Required:
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master
  • Team organization management: backlog, tracking, alignment, cadence
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness, ability to work without a fully defined framework
  • Mobilization and integration into a dynamic team
  • Cross-team collaboration with other Scrum Masters, RTEs, and DAs
  • Understanding of the IT context, without a specific business domain

Desired:

  • Scrum Certification (PSM1, CSM, or equivalent)

Asset:

  • Experience in scaled agile (SAFe or equivalent)
  • Experience in insurance or financial services
