Position Title: Sales Representative, Canada Retail

About the role .
As our Field Retail Sales Representative, you are responsible for positively representing McCain frozen food products, programs and promotional activity at major grocery retailers and mass accounts within an assigned territory. The primary focus is on building strong relationships with retailers by visiting their locations and encouraging their support of our frozen foods products through product distribution, placement, promotions, pricing and point-of-sale merchandising. Currently we have an opening for our territory in Toronto (GTA) Canada.
Key Accountabilities

  • Plan and execute daily schedule for visiting stores in an efficient manner including setting objectives for each call
  • Enforcing and addressing planogram compliance according to company standards (planograms are visual diagrams of the desired in-store product merchandising/setup)
  • Driving distribution for existing and new product launches by building, installing and maintaining point-of-sale (POS) materials and displays for maximum effectiveness and visibility
  • Ensuring prominent product placement and visibility through shelf management and displays
  • Actively seeking out and securing additional display opportunities (bunker and end cap displays)
  • Inputting timely and accurate data in the sales tracking tool/system
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent customer service through prompt follow up on store needs, customer requests and problem resolution
  • Documenting merchandising and display results (photos and written descriptions)
  • Managing damaged goods and returns according to company specific policies
  • Developing a strong knowledge of McCain's products including facts, features and benefits
  • Liaising with internal teams on information sharing or issue resolution (Marketing, Finance, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • General Education Diploma (GED) required
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Business, Marketing or Merchandising preferred
  • 0-3 years of general work experience; previous sales experience and/or experience in a consumer packaged goods company, grocery store or retail environment preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively work with a diverse client base as well as with employees and leaders across all levels of McCain
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn other programs as required
  • Ability to understand and execute retail sales planograms (visual diagrams) to ensure that products are displayed accurately and consistently at retailers
  • Must hold a valid Ontario driver's license and acceptable driver's history and preferably knowledgeable of the GTA
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move 30+ pounds; work in a freezer environment and ability to stand for long periods of time, kneel or crouch down, reach above head height and bend over

Compensation Package : $65,500.00 - $87,400.00 CAD annually + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
