The Sales Intern will assist the sales team with territory research, CRM analysis, customer preparation, and collaborate on marketing efforts, gaining real-world experience in sales and marketing.
This is a full-time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
The Sales Intern will support the Calix sales organization by assisting with territory research, pipeline development activities, and customer engagement preparation. As part of Calix’s award-winning internship program, you will gain broad exposure to our Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Operations teams while developing hands-on skills used every day by high-performing sales professionals.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Research service providers, markets, and competitive landscapes within assigned territories.
- Support territory managers with prospect identification and account planning activities.
- Analyze CRM data to ensure accurate account, contact, and opportunity information.
- Assist with Salesforce data cleanup and enrichment to support pipeline development.
- Prepare customer-facing materials, including presentations, briefs, and account summaries.
- Collaborate with Marketing on targeted outreach and Demand Generation campaigns.
- Participate in internal sales calls and customer meetings when appropriate.
- Help track activity metrics, forecast updates, and weekly territory performance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand Calix solutions and customer use cases.
Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program, working towards a Bachelor's Degree in STEM, Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors with previous work or internship experience.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,CoPilot).
- Comfortable learning new technologies, tools, and platforms.
- Salesforce or CRM experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-changing, high-growth environment.
- Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).

The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
