Sprout Social is looking to hire a Sales Compensation Analyst to the Revenue Operations team, within the Sales & Success team.

What you’ll do
- Commission Plan Administration: Administer complex sales compensation plans, including but not limited to, calculating commissions, bonuses, and accelerators for a diverse sales team.
- SPIFF Platform Management: Leverage expertise in the SPIFF compensation platform to configure plans, manage data imports/exports, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, forecast commission payouts, and provide insights to sales leadership. Generate accurate and timely reports for various stakeholders.
- Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve commission-related inquiries and disputes in a professional and timely manner, ensuring clear communication and accurate adjustments.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve sales compensation processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Plan Documentation & Communication: Document sales compensation plans and provide clear communication to the sales team regarding plan details and changes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Sales Operations, Finance, HR, and other departments to ensure alignment and data integrity.
- Compliance: Ensure all compensation practices adhere to company policies and relevant regulations.
What you’ll bring
We're searching for a resourceful, detail-oriented self-starter who is passionate about delivering top-tier support to Sprout Social's Sales & Success team. Success in this role hinges on your experience configuring and administering variable compensation for extensive, multi-functional sales organizations. You'll be a trusted partner, able to communicate effectively and clarify complex technical details with ease. Above all else, we seek a collaborative and highly engaged team player ready to contribute to our driven group of analysts.
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- 3+ years of direct experience as a Sales Compensation Analyst.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with an industry standard sales compensation software platform is REQUIRED. Preference for candidates with experience with SPIFF.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas).
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in calculations and data entry.
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Experience implementing a compensation management software program, with the ability to translate multi-faceted variable plans into system configuration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience at a SaaS company, serving a sales org of 300+ individuals and multiple functions.
How you’ll grow
Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:
- Experience Sprout’s in-depth onboarding, covering everything from our company mission and values, hearing directly from executives and founders to deep training on our products and the value that Sprout delivers to our customers
- Get to know stakeholders throughout our Revenue Operations team as well as cross-functional teams.
- Become familiar with our sales environment, tech stack, and sales processes.
- Assume primary ownership of running calculations for end of month compensation calculation.
Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:
- Build connections with members from other teams through active networking and community-building
- Have a high degree of knowledge of all Sales and Customer Success variable compensation programs and processes.
- Be the owner of all variable compensation administration.
- Draft and deliver all documentation related to variable compensation plans.
- Support re-implementation of the ICM, leveraging your experience to configure the tool in ways that scale and contribute to long term efficiency
Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:
- Have your first performance conversation with your manager, where you’ll discuss your accomplishments in your role and work together to build goals for your professional growth
- Drive changes in processes, policies, and procedures for your department, helping drive improvements in efficiency, transparency, and trust
Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:
- Find ways to automate, simplify, and evolve the execution of compensation in ways that allow the business to grow and scale effectively.
- Weigh in on plan and short term incentive design, bringing your unique point of view on feasibility and effectiveness
- Develop new and interesting ways to analyze and visualize the data to help inform future decisions and strategies.
- Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change your team in beneficial ways that we haven’t considered yet.

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. Individual base pay is based on various factors, including work location, relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In the United States, we have two geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires are:
- Zone 1 (New York, California, Washington): $82,984.00 (min), $103,700.00 (mid), $124,476.00 (max) USD annually
- Zone 2 (All other US states): $75,400.00 (min), $94,300.00 (mid), $113,200.00 (max) USD annually
The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.
Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit). Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
