Job Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
  • Administer and execute the preventative maintenance program.
  • Safe and efficient repair and maintenance of Fanuc robots and welding equipment.
  • Develop and standardize Resistance Welding processes.
  • Implement systems to elongate electrode life (stepper programs, dressers, etc.)
  • Respond to Corrective Action Reports (define root cause, implement corrections and evaluate implementation)
  • Get involved in troubleshooting of resistance (spot and projection) welding issues mig welding and drawn arc welding.
  • Develop documentation system for processes.
  • Standardize welding consumables where possible to achieve cost reduction.
  • Improve / develop / standardize destructive and non-destructive tests.
  • Maintain a database with records of changes and welding schedules by machine/part.
  • Support maintenance of spare parts list.
  • Routine maintenance of production equipment to ensure the most efficient flow of production with the least possible downtime.
  • Support welding development, new schedules and corrections on improvements as well as robot programming and scheduled maintenance.
  • Work with production scheduler to schedule repairs ensuring scheduler is aware when work assignments cannot be completed as planned.

  • Assertive and self motivated, able to analyze and prioritize tasks
  • Intimate knowledge of equipment and processes within scope of job. Certified in use of all required equipment
  • Constantly open to new ideas, open to change and CI, capable of moving ideas into actions
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and trouble techniques of equipment problems
  • Creative problem-solving skills are essential
  • Proficient in FANUC programming
  • Knowledge of resistance and drawn arc welding equipment.
  • MEDAR and Lincoln welders

Education Qualifications:
  • A valid Provincial Certificate or equivalent education.
  • 5 years related experience in similar work environment.
  • College diploma or equivalent education in relevant field (welding, automation, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot assembly equipment.
  • knowledge of resistance welding equipment and mig welding equipment.
  • Knowledge of robot safety circuits and hardware.
  • Good command of the English language (both verbal and written).
  • Must have Tool box / Tools required to carry out tasks of position. Any other specialty tools may be supplied by company.
