Job Description

As a Retail Sales Representative, you will serve as the face of our Outdoors Business brands, including Larson, Therma-Tru, and Fiberon, across retail partners throughout Western Pennsylvania. You'll build strong relationships with store associates and leaders, deliver product training, execute merchandising strategies, and help drive sales growth across Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards, and other retail accounts.

POSITION LOCATION: This position supports approximately 71 retail locations throughout Western Pennsylvania. Candidates should reside in or near the greater Pittsburgh area, with regular travel throughout the territory, including Altoona. Daily local travel is expected, along with occasional overnight travel (approximately 3–4 nights per month). A company expense card is provided for approved travel-related expenses.

What you will be doing

  • Represent our Outdoors Business brands and products across Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards, and other retail partners within your assigned territory.
  • Build lasting relationships with retail associates, department managers, and store leadership.
  • Increase sales across Millwork, In-Home, and Pro business channels.
  • Deliver engaging product knowledge sessions and merchandising training that help retail associates confidently recommend our products.
  • Partner with Retail Pro Associates and distributor sales teams to grow professional contractor business through training events and Pro-focused initiatives.
  • Support Retail & Remodel revenue by collaborating with Retail In-Home Sales Consultants.
  • Ensure new and remodeled stores are properly merchandised with accurate displays, signage, pricing, and point-of-purchase materials.
  • Monitor product inventory and merchandising conditions, identifying opportunities to improve product visibility and sales.
  • Attend customer events, Pro events, and industry functions to strengthen relationships and increase brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Service, Product Management, and Sales teams to share market feedback and improve the customer experience.
  • Manage territory travel and expenses responsibly while achieving established sales objectives.
  • Contribute to additional projects and initiatives that support business priorities.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of sales experience, or equivalent customer-facing experience.
  • Retail experience, including big-box retail environments.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups and delivering product training.
  • Ability to travel daily throughout the assigned territory, with overnight travel approximately 3–4 nights per month.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in millwork, decking, building materials, or the home improvement industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot.
  • Understanding of consultative selling techniques and customer relationship management.

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $55,000 USD - $70,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
