Our flagship product, the dcbel Home Energy Station, is a small wall mounted device that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and home, unlocking their EV’s battery for backup power (V2H), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, backup battery and the grid.


The opportunity

dcbel is looking to hire a Release Manager to work in our Information Services team. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Information Services team by collaborating with development teams to plan and schedule software releases and ensure alignment with product goals and timelines.


Main responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development teams to plan and schedule software releases and ensure alignment with product goals and timelines
  • Oversee the implementation of software changes, ensuring they are correctly tested, documented, and deployed with minimal disruption to end-users
  • Coordinate the release schedule, required resources, infrastructure updates, pre-production environments
  • Communicate release plans and changes to internal and external stakeholders (B2C & B2B)
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to releases. Develop rollback strategies in case of deployment issues
  • Monitor releases post-deployment to identify and resolve any issues or bugs. Ensure that feedback loops are in place for future improvements
  • Level 3 support : technical investigation of reported issues before they are escalated to development teams

Key requirements

  • Proven experience as a Release Manager or in a similar software development role
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and release management best practices
  • Experience with Cloud, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation tools
  • Practical knowledge and skills in planning, testing, deploying, and managing firmware updates for connected devices is a big asset
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple releases and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and mitigate risks effectively

Bonus skills

  • Experience as a software developer is a big asset
  • Bilingual English and French
