About the role.
Reporting to the Regional IT Services Manager, the Support Technician will
  • Under limited supervision of the Regional IT Services Manager (or designate) directly provide onsite support for a variety of IT hardware and software, such as, but not limited to:
    • personal computer hardware/software and peripherals
    • mobile phone/PDAs
    • network printers, server and network hardware equipment, computer room/network wiring closet facilities, and phone systems.
  • Under the direction of Network/System Administrators perform requested onsite tasks to aid in the troubleshooting or remediation of problems
  • • Support and ensures McCain IS standards and policies are followed and report exceptions to the appropriate departments or Regional IT Services Manager
  • Develop a sustainable and productive working relationship with end users of all IS services as this position is one of the most highly visible 'faces' of IS.

What you'll be doing.
  • Directly provide onsite or work with third party vendors support a variety of IT hardware and software, such as, but not limited to: personal computer hardware/software and peripherals, mobile phones, network printers, server and network hardware, Warehouse Management equipment, computer room/network wiring closet facilities, and phone systems
  • Depending on regional requirements, may be assigned to monitor system backups, perform restoration of data, perform mobile phone account administration (add/modify/delete), raise purchase requests, obtain quotes, receive orders, liaise with local contractors, and explain work requirements ensuring quotes are accurate.
  • Assist in global and regional technology hardware refresh and implementation projects.
  • Work closely with business stake holders to understand their IT requirements and provide solutions proactively.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and provide solutions to IT issues, collaborate with third party vendors and with regional/global IT teams to troubleshoot, provide solutions.
  • Conduct software testing and installation in support of application packing and deployment.
  • Adhere to all appropriate IT Service Management practices for Incident Management, Problem Management and Change management using the ITSM tools for self-assigning tickets, following up on tickets and providing resolution.
  • Management - responsible for ensuring standard McCain PC images are applied and maintained on McCain assets.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • 3 - 4 years' experience is required/desirable for candidates applying for this position
  • College diploma in IT or equivalent
  • Knowledge in Cisco networking technologies including wi-fi.
  • Knowledge of O365 suite of products.
  • Knowledge of PC imaging technologies such as SCCM/Intune will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum technical certifications, AZ-900, preferred Microsoft certifications

Compensation Package : $52,600.00 - $70,200.00 . CAD annually
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
