POSITION OVERVIEW 

Our goal is to ensure that all entrepreneurs across Canada have the tools they need and can access the people and programs required to successfully grow their businesses.

As the Regional Manager of Inclusive Entrepreneurship, you will lead the design and implementation of the go-to-market plan for inclusive entrepreneurship in your region and work closely with a wide range of internal and external partners. The goal of this role is to acquire new prospects of various sizes (small, medium, and large businesses) in dedicated geographic locations and position BDC as a preferred partner for Canadian business owners from underserved populations.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Lead business development to help business owners from underserved populations achieve their ambitions.

  • Work in collaboration with account managers to identify new business opportunities.

  • Use your network of contacts to develop and receive business opportunities.

  • Collaborate with different communities to help the Canadian economy.

Orientation and connections with clients within underserved populations

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and individuals involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem to promote BDC's credibility, image, and reputation.

  • Be active with associations and business organizations working with underserved populations to understand their key issues and provide the necessary support through our products and services.

  • Maintain excellent customer service for communities.

  • Keep abreast of key economic trends that may impact business owners from underserved populations.

Support BDC employees to become champions of inclusive entrepreneurship.

  • Raise awareness among BDC employees about the importance of a targeted strategy to attract and retain clients from underserved populations.

  • Ensure continuous information dissemination and coordinate the actions of internal champions of inclusive entrepreneurship for the benefit of clients and prospects.

  • Contribute to BDC's strategy by participating in the development of tailored solutions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Sense of initiative and influence with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • More than 5 years of experience in a financial institution as an account manager, loan writer, or any other experience deemed relevant.

  • Ability to analyze financial statements, synthesize and communicate effectively.

  • Strong leadership skills, inspiring employees to become champions of inclusive entrepreneurship.

  • Interest in issues related to SMEs, economic development policies and practices.

  • Bachelor's degree in administration or any field deemed equivalent.

  • Excellent ability to speak and write in French and English.

Valid driver's license.
