About Us
At Kobalt.io, our mission is to solve cybersecurity for SMBs at scale. We believe small businesses are the engine behind innovation and growth. Role Overview
We are seeking a technology-forward Recruiter to join our growing team. This role will execute a high-touch, full-cycle recruitment process, from talent attraction and sourcing through to offer, and you'll be comfortable using AI-powered tools to source, screen, and engage candidates more effectively. You'll start out working closely with, and supported by, our Head of People & Culture as you build your skills across the full recruiting toolkit — sourcing, employer branding, campus engagement, and recruiting technology. As you grow into the role, there is a clear path toward fully owning the talent acquisition function as Kobalt.io scales. This role is open to any candidates located in Canada and in the EST timezone.
Responsibilities
These responsibilities will grow with you over time — you're not expected to have already done all of this. Below is a picture of where the role can go, with support from our Head of People & Culture along the way.
- Full-Cycle Recruitment: With support from our Head of People & Culture, manage sourcing, screening, and pipeline for open roles, from talent attraction through offer. Work toward maintaining an average time-to-hire of under 30 days and ensuring at least 75% of candidates advanced to hiring manager interviews are a strong foundational fit for the role.
- Offer & Closing Support: Manage candidate expectations early and, with support from leadership on offer structuring, work toward a minimum 90% offer acceptance rate. Execute the administrative closing process, including conducting thorough reference checks and initiating background checks.
- Candidate Experience: Use current best practices to create a world-class, scalable candidate experience
acting as an empathetic communicator throughout the candidate journey ensuring candidates have a positive experience regardless of hiring outcome. - Employer Brand Equity: Support and, over time, help support employer branding initiatives to promote the Kobalt.io employment brand and increase application rates — starting with 1-2 initiatives per quarter alongside our Head of People & Culture and Marketing, growing toward greater ownership as you build experience.
- Campus & Community Coordination:, Serve as a point of contact for local universities and colleges, creating positive interactions and partnerships to attract top emerging talent as we grow and scale
- Tech & Analytics Growth: Over your first year, build familiarity with recruiting data and reporting to help identify hiring bottlenecks, and bring forward ideas on modern recruitment tools or AI-driven workflow automations worth exploring.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with hiring managers and leadership on role requirements, total rewards strategy, and interview processes to ensure a consistent, high-quality hiring experience.

How We Use AI in Our Hiring Process
At Kobalt.io, we value transparency and want you to know exactly how we evaluate candidates.
- AI Notetaking: We use an AI-powered meeting assistant in all interviews. This tool records, transcribes, and generates summaries of our conversation. This allows our interviewers to be fully present and engaged with you, rather than being distracted by taking manual notes.
- Information Sharing: These summaries help us accurately share your qualifications and highlights with hiring managers and key stakeholders who may not be on the call.
- Human-Led Decisions: While our AI tools may provide data points or candidate rankings, humans remain at the helm of our decision-making. We may use these insights as just one piece of information in our evaluation. Your potential is assessed by real people, and the final decision on who moves forward is always made by the hiring team.
