The Ericsson Radio Product Team is responsible for all aspects of development of the next generation radio products: systemization, design, integration, and verification of multi-standard radios. This position is for our Radio Product Systems and Integration Organization which works on radio systemization as well as integrating hardware and software designs to validate the performance and functionality of new radio products.
The candidate will enable the delivery of our Radio portfolio by taking responsibility for the functional and radio-frequency performance validation of new products, by participating in the hardware/software integration activities needed in the project and growing the technical experience to become a capable driver of the execution of those activities across many radio design teams including hardware design and software design as well as other design teams outside of radio if applicable.

The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The salary range for this position is
• Ottawa, ON: $85,000- $111,300
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

What will you do
- Connect multiple digital and analog designs into a product prototype, and integrate that product's hardware and software
- Be responsible for the functional and radio-frequency performance validation of new products
- Analyze new product design and its performance requirements
- Troubleshoot radio solutions to identify design or performance shortcomings
- Prepare lab environment including both hardware and software components
- Define test coverage required for integration and describe how it will be performed
- Implement test automation and validation methods for efficient integration coverage and develop all calibration and performance optimization procedures (using scripting in Python or MATLAB)
- Define robustness and stress test required for new product
- Analyze results and drive radio updates, perform error detection, and report findings
- Perform statistical analysis of measurement data
- Work collaboratively with the design teams to define integration activities needed for each radio project (e.g. board bring up, carrier activation, closed loop DPD, feature integration)
The skills you bring
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in programs specialized in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree in corresponding programs is also desirable
- Ideally have some experience(2-5 years) working directly with radio products (systemization, hardware design, integration, or test)
- Demonstrated background in the system design and/or hardware design of radios or major radio components such as power amplifiers, filters, transceivers, antennas
- Analytic mentality, high capacity, result oriented and ability to deliver under pressure
- Background in communications theory and digital signal processing
- Knowledge of 3GPP specifications, especially in Radio performance characteristics
- Experience in the development and analysis of simulations, knowledge of simulation environments like ADS and/or MATLAB is an asset
- Ability to multi-task, meet time frames and manage different tasks at the same time
- Experience with basic lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies
- Energy and drive to thrive in a dynamic product development environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, including some team leadership experience
- Excellent English skills(both verbal and written), providing effective communication building positive relationships internally as well as externally
Other useful skills:
- Basic knowledge of wireless communication standards
- Understanding of RF engineering
- Understanding of analog/digital hardware building blocks
- Experience with basic lab equipment, including: spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies
