This Position reports to:

R&D Manager – North America
 

This internship is a full-time summer position scheduled for 2026, with a hybrid work model requiring three days per week onsite. It is embedded within an R&D Management environment focused on operational excellence, process efficiency, and digital transformation. The primary focus is on identifying optimization opportunities in departmental processes, workflows, and tool utilization to enhance productivity and decision-making across the R&D organization.

Responsibilities

The intern will work closely with R&D Management to identify, analyze, and implement process improvements and tool optimization initiatives. The role involves research, analysis, automation, and documentation tasks aligned with organizational priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Process Analysis: Conduct comprehensive reviews of current R&D processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities. Document findings with clear recommendations for improvement.
  • Dashboard and Analytics Development: Design and develop dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs), project metrics, and departmental workflows. Create visualizations that support data-driven decision-making.
  • Workflow Automation: Leverage Power Automation tools (Power Automate, RPA concepts) to streamline repetitive tasks, integrate systems, and reduce manual workload across departmental processes.
  • Project Management Tool Optimization: Evaluate and optimize the use of project management platforms such as Wrike or Clickup. Develop templates, standardize workflows, and provide training recommendations for improved team adoption.
  • Implementation Support: Assist in the deployment of optimization initiatives, including system configuration, user documentation, and change management support.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Prepare reports and presentations summarizing process improvements, tool recommendations, and implementation roadmaps for management and team stakeholders.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must demonstrate a comprehensive set of technical competencies and linguistic proficiency:

Technical Skills

Business Intelligence & Analytics:

  • Power BI: Experience creating dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Basic understanding of data modeling and query languages.
  • Excel advanced functions, pivot tables, and data analysis.

Automation & Integration:

  • Power Automate (Microsoft cloud flows) for workflow automation.
  • Basic understanding of API integration and system connectivity.
  • Experience with RPA concepts or similar automation tools.
  • PowerShell scripting or similar automation languages (beneficial).

Project Management Platforms:

  • Familiarity with Wrike, Clickup, or similar project management tools.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and workflow management.
  • Ability to design templates and standardize processes.

Office & Collaboration Tools:

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with collaborative platforms (Teams, SharePoint).
  • Basic database concepts or experience with data management systems.
Soft Skills & Methodology:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and methodologies.
  • Project management and time management capabilities.
Language Proficiency:

Fluent in both French and English, both spoken and written, to facilitate communication within the team and documentation. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
