Mercer is seeking an experienced Sales Professional to drive new business growth across the Quebec market.
This role is responsible for originating, developing, and closing consulting and solutions opportunities with mid-to-large employers, partnering closely with subject-matter experts and client teams to deliver integrated, value-based solutions.
By engaging with a variety of senior-level individuals and decision-makers, you will promote solutions that address a broad set of workforce requirements, including traditional benefits, wellness strategies workforce compensation and rewards, HR transformation, and employee engagement solutions.
This is a hybrid role that requires being in our Montreal office at least 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute a Quebec regional sales strategy to achieve annual new business and revenue targets across Mercer’s full portfolio (e.g., Health, Wealth, Career, and integrated solutions).
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new logo opportunities; build a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting, referrals, events, and strategic networking.
- Lead consultative discovery with senior client stakeholders (HR, Finance, Total Rewards, CFO/CEO) to understand business needs and position Mercer’s differentiated value.
- Orchestrate complex, multi-solution pursuits—coordinating internal specialists, proposal development, pricing, and contracting to deliver compelling, integrated proposals.
- Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene, pipeline forecasting, and activity reporting; manage sales cycle milestones and governance requirements.
- Build and deepen relationships with key influencers and decision makers across Quebec; develop an active external presence in the market.
- Partner with Client Managers and practice leaders to cross-sell, expand existing relationships, and ensure a strong handoff for delivery and long-term growth.
- Ensure compliance with MMC/Mercer policies, including confidentiality, risk, and business ethics requirements.
What you need to have:
- 7+ years of consultative B2B sales experience (professional services, consulting, or HR/benefits/retirement/health solutions preferred).
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
- Strong executive presence; able to influence C-suite and senior HR/Finance leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead pursuit teams and sell integrated solutions across multiple domains.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentations) and comfort negotiating commercial terms.
- Fluency in French and English (required to serve Quebec-based clients and internal stakeholders).
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and modern sales processes.
- Ability to travel within Quebec and occasionally across Canada.
