Anyon Systems is a quantum computing company located in the Greater Montreal Region and with presence in Waterloo, Ontario. You will be working within our Quantum Hardware Team, a team of engineers and scientists dedicated to the design, fabrication, and testing of novel superconducting quantum processors. You will collaborate closely with other teams when required. In this role, you will draw on your strong expertise as well as as your critical thinking and obsession for documentation.

Quantum Hardware Engineer – Experienced
Location: Montreal, Qc. Canada
Job Type: Full-Time | Senior-Level | Department: Physics
Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual design, simulation, and validation of advanced superconducting quantum circuits.
- Lead experimental effort on characterization, calibration and/or control of quantum devices and processors.
- Optimize layout and design workflows using the Anyon Systems toolkit and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with R&D, nanofabrication, and systems teams to align hardware development with system-level goals.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, design reports, and contribute to roadmap planning.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 2–5 years of industry experience in quantum hardware or superconducting devices.
- Proven track record in developing and validating quantum circuit designs.
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++, especially in scientific or simulation contexts.
- Deep understanding of microwave engineering, quantum optics, and superconducting quantum circuits.
- Hands-on experience with nanofabrication processes involving superconducting materials.
- Experience with design validation using FEM or equivalent simulation tools.
