Desjardins’s Wealth Management and Life and Health Insurance (WMLHI) IT Division is looking for a quality assurance specialist to join its quality assurance team. This team’s mission is to help WMLHI IT teams become more autonomous, in terms of mastering practices and tools, as well as improve their development processes to speed up the delivery of quality solutions. As a quality specialist, you play a key role in establishing and implementing the elements needed to ensure that quality is properly managed in complex business and IT solutions. You support and advise project management and other members of the QA team in your field of expertise. As a practice leader, you’ll also take a leadership role in integrating QA approaches into the processes for rolling out, maintaining and updating the sector’s IT solutions. More specifically, you will be required to:
Work with the project team to develop quality strategies and documentation.
Identify, implement and feed quality development process indicators for project teams.
Implement best practices and support teams as they conduct quality assurance checks, and support teams as they carry out different aspects of the quality assurance strategy.
Identify and plan the different types of tests required, as well as the environments in which they will be carried out and the prerequisites for their execution, to ensure adequate coverage and an execution sequence that ensures optimal investment of effort based on the project and solution risks.
Develop an automation strategy, identify test cases for automation and ensure continuous optimization.
Oversee the design and follow-up of test cases identified by the team and ensure that they are entered by stakeholders in the appropriate test repositories and documentation.
Coordinate test preparation, including test environments and data, with the various teams involved
Coordinate the rigorous execution of tests (manual and automated) assigned to you, and ensure close alignment with other leaders if responsibility is shared.
Follow up on test results and anomalies as agreed upon in the quality strategy, and keep proof of execution for traceability purposes.

What you bring to the table
Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field
A minimum of six years of relevant IT quality assurance experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Experience drafting and executing test cases and problem-solving
Experience in a complex, technologically diverse environment for major projects involving development and software package integration
Experience leading a development team
Knowledge of French is required
Knowledge of Confluence, Jira and Xray
Knowledge of testing pyramid principles and testing quadrants
