Role Summary
The Quality Engineering Co-op Student will provide technical support, from a quality perspective, in the resolutionof production concerns. The Technician is responsible for verifying that all quality standards relating to productionprocesses and finished goods are adhered to under all circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Salary Range: $21.00-$23.00/Hour
- Provide Root Cause Analysis and assistance in the resolution of customer concerns;
- Participate on and provide support for troubleshooting to ensure a focus on Pareto resolution of high priority customer concerns;
- Participate in the development of shop floor procedures to ensure that defined corrective actions are permanent;
- Provide support to Quality Department leadership to allow for increased focus on problem resolution;
- Support corrective action activities for customer and internal concerns (standard work, fixture instructions, inspection instructions, APQP docs, internal tracking and follow-up).
- Scrap reduction activities, take the lead on specific "Top 5" items.
- Support miscellaneous dimensional and testing studies to support customer and internal concerns.
- Aid with data gathering activities; Scrap, LRR, Containment results
- Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designate.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Working toward a post secondary degree or diploma in a Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering discipline or equivalent is required;
- Experience in electromechanical systems
- Knowledge of advance quality and design techniques.
- Integrated manufacturing experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail is key;
- Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, 3D viewers, and PowerPoint is required.
