Group Summary:
The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
  • Assist Quality Engineers in the development, continued completeness and accuracy of:
    • Process Flow Chart
    • PFMEA
    • Control Plan
    • Applicable quality inspection instructions
  • Assist Quality Engineers in completing process capability studies, Gauge R&R activity, and other part related activities
  • Review eRFX system and supplier CQI assessments to determine which suppliers have expired CQI assessments
  • For suppliers missing a valid CQI assessment:
  • contact supplier by phone and by email to solicit CQI assessment
  • follow up frequently (daily basis) with supplier on status of CQI assessment
  • review submitted CQI assessment to confirm it is duly completed; verify assessment dates entered within eRFX and within electronic document are correct
  • As required, contact suppliers by phone and email to ensure supplier contact info within eRFX is updated and accurate
  • Consult with Plastcoat Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineer for any concerns related to supplier CQI assessments
  • Follow up with the issued QPF complaints on a weekly basis
  • Assist Quality Engineers with special projects as required
  • All other duties as required by Quality Manager
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
  • Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
  • Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards
  • Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
  • Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP
  • Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
  • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
  • Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
  • Perform other duties as required

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
  • Currently enrolled in a Quality Assurance program or related field of study

EXPERIENCE:
  • Familiarity with and understanding of quality concepts and principles
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Experience working with external suppliers an asset

SKILLS:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Reliability, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and work in fast paced environment
