Purpose of PositionTo provide support and to help manage risk to the organization in the areas of quality management, life science product safety management, and responsible distribution, while also providing commercial support as required by the business.Reporting StructureThis position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. There are no direct reports to this position.Key Accountabilities
- Manage risk considering quality and product safety legal and company requirements, industry best practices, management system requirements, and the Responsible Distribution Canada’s Responsible Distribution® Code of Practice
- Evaluate new products and vendors from the point of view of quality and product safety
- Address customer inquiries related to quality management and product safety management in the form of standard documentation, questionnaires, and other documentation such as notifications of change
- Participate in the maintenance of controlled documentation (standard operating procedures, forms, and work instructions) related to quality management and product safety management
- Participate in the maintenance of the legal register for legislation relevant to departmental areas of responsibility
- Support commercial activities as required by the business
- Formal training in quality management (ISO 9001) or life science product safety management (particularly with any recognized food or pharma standard) would be an asset
- Experience in the chemical industry with exposure to quality management or life science product safety management would be an asset
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are critical to this role
- This role may involve sporadic travel within Canada
