Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test automation strategies for desktop applications.
- Build automation test suites from scratch, covering UI scenarios, backend validation, and database verification.
- Automate complex workflows, including interaction with dynamic UI elements.
- Conduct API testing and automation for REST and SOAP web services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are met.
- Analyze complex issues, develop risk mitigation strategies, and communicate recommendations effectively.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Formal training or certification in test automation, troubleshooting for desktop applications, and maintenance concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages used for automation, such as C#, .NET, Python, or other relevant languages for UI desktop applications.
- Extensive test automation experience with in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
- Proven experience in building automation test suites from scratch, covering UI scenarios, backend validation, and database verification using SQL queries.
- Hands-on experience with automating complex workflows, including interaction with dynamic UI elements and object mapping.
- Experience with REST and SOAP web services, including API testing and automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab, applied to automated test pipelines.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, design patterns, and continuous delivery principles for test automation.
- Ability to analyze complex issues, develop risk mitigation strategies, and effectively communicate recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience in functional and non-functional test automation, such as web applications and desktop applications.
- Knowledge of integration testing between desktop systems and backend services, including local API interactions.
- Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.
- Strong communication skills for executive-level interactions.
- Excellent organizational and management abilities to handle competing priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proven track record of collaboration and partnership building.
- Experience in designing, developing, and executing test automation strategies.
