Montreal, Quebec (not eligible for remote) Hybrid 2-3 days a week. English is the working language for this role.


Your Role
Develops, publishes, and implements test plans. Writes and maintains test automation. Follows quality assurance standards and processes. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the software quality assurance field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of quality assurance tasks. Follows disciplined software quality assurance practices.

Your Impact
The individual will be playing important role in ensuring high-quality standards across multiple innovative and pivotal projects for IoT platforms and applications. Augmented reality and IoT are significant components of PTC’s strategic direction.

Your Team
You will be part of quality assurance team which is responsible for testing IoT platform and applications located in Montreal, QC.

Your Day-to-Day
  • Actively collaborate with developers, QA lead, product manager to shape the product and deliver product releases
  • Provide feedback to the team on product quality, call out risks/issues (if any), and can balance quality with time bound delivery with a release perspective
  • Maintain and write automated test suites
  • Ability to work with the QA lead to come up with a testing strategy for a given release with inputs from the team, if needed.
  • Ready to work on the fast-paced geographically distributed team doing frequent releases
  • Understand the product domain

Must-Have Skills 
  • Hands-on Web UI automated and manual testing experience
  • Good understanding of different automation tools that can be used for Web UI test automation and command expertise in at least one of them for testing
  • Good experience with version control tools like Git, SVN, etc.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and working knowledge of SDLC
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Functional knowledge on ThingWorx would be an added advantage.

Basic Qualifications 
  • 3-5 years of Quality Assurance experience in a software development environment
  • Ability to commute to the Montreal office. 2-3 days a week.

Votre équipe

Vous ferez partie de l’équipe d’assurance qualité responsable des tests des plateformes et applications IoT, basée à Montréal, QC.

Votre quotidien
  • Collaborer activement avec les développeurs, le chef QA et le gestionnaire de produit pour façonner le produit et livrer les versions.
  • Fournir des commentaires sur la qualité du produit, signaler les risques/problèmes (le cas échéant), et équilibrer qualité et délais de livraison.
  • Maintenir et rédiger des suites de tests automatisés.
  • Travailler avec le chef QA pour élaborer une stratégie de test pour une version donnée, avec les contributions de l’équipe si nécessaire.
  • Être prêt à travailler dans une équipe distribuée géographiquement et dynamique, avec des livraisons fréquentes.
  • Comprendre le domaine du produit.
Compétences essentielles
  • Expérience pratique en tests manuels et automatisés d’interfaces Web.
  • Bonne compréhension des outils d’automatisation pour les tests Web UI et maîtrise d’au moins un outil.
  • Expérience avec des outils de contrôle de version comme Git, SVN, etc.
  • Expérience avec les méthodologies Agile (Scrum, Kanban) et connaissance du cycle de vie du développement logiciel (SDLC).
  • Capacité à apprendre rapidement de nouvelles technologies.
  • Une connaissance fonctionnelle de ThingWorx serait un atout.
Qualifications de base
  • 3 à 5 ans d’expérience en assurance qualité dans un environnement de développement logiciel.
  • Capacité à se rendre au bureau de Montréal 2 à 3 jours par semaine.
