The ABB Measurement & Analytics plant in Quebec is a global leader in the field of spectroscopy. Our contract engineering department is the largest Canadian supplier of space‑borne optical sensors used, among other things, for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and for global weather forecasting. Our plant is also recognized for its expertise in developing and manufacturing various products that meet a wide range of daily industrial analysis needs.

In this role, you will act as a project planner within a multidisciplinary research and development team. This team is responsible for analyzing, designing, executing, and integrating solutions for clients such as the Canadian Space Agency, as well as for our measurement and analysis products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project schedules, including preparing work packages, task sequencing and duration, milestone planning, determining the critical path, and optimizing resources.

  • Obtain the information required for schedule updates and keep schedules up to date. Manage project timelines and optimize schedules based on received information.

  • Perform budget tracking for projects. Control approved budgets in SAP versus the costs captured in Primavera.

  • Analyze project progress and variances compared to the approved baseline, and assess schedule risks. Propose corrective actions and adjust schedules accordingly.

  • Identify potential resource conflicts between different projects and propose optimal resource allocation.

  • Manage change requests and consolidate and analyze project indicators.

  • Prepare and analyze short‑, medium‑, and long‑term revenue and expense forecasts.

  • Support the project manager and project team in detailed and strategic project planning.

  • Ensure the entry of timesheets.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Project Management process and its tools.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in administration with relevant experience.

  • 5 years of experience in project scheduling (MS Project or Primavera) and in project cost control.

  • Good knowledge of Word and Excel, Microsoft Office suite.

  • Good knowledge of SAP and contractual terms (asset).

  • Rigorous and detail-oriented.

  • Strong time‑management and organizational skills.

  • Autonomous and adaptable.

  • Bilingual (French/English). French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis. 

This job offer is conditional upon the candidate obtaining Industrial Security Level 2 status as well as the certificate issued by the Controlled Goods Program.
