The program involves the coordination of several project leads, the management of inter-system dependencies and reporting to the steering committee. The Program Manager is also responsible for the consolidated management of the budget and schedule, and acts as the main interlocutor with the VP IT for the prioritization and influence of the roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the IT obsolescence program as a whole, from coordination of related projects to reporting to the steering committee
- Coordinate several project managers and ensure consistency of inter-project deliverables
- Manage inter-system dependencies and anticipate impacts on teams and schedules
- Negotiate and influence the IT roadmap with the VP IT and management stakeholders
- Ensure the governance of the program: consolidated budget, schedule, risk and issue management
- Produce progress reports and keep the steering committee informed of the status of the program
Desired profile
- 15 years or more of experience in IT project or program management
- Experience in the Quebec insurance sector, required
- Demonstrated experience in obsolete programs, legacy system decommissioning, or application rationalization
- Techno profile with a real understanding of architecture, cross-system delivery and legacy environments
- Ability to challenge technical teams on architecture and delivery choices
- Mastery of hybrid project management combining waterfall and SAFe
- Ability to coordinate multiple project managers simultaneously
- Ability to negotiate and influence at a management level (VP IT)
- PMP, PgMP, Prince2 or equivalent certification required
- Operational French-English bilingualism, required
