Location and Division

Research and Safety Division
This is a field role that requires regular in-person customer visits. Ideal candidates are based in the Greater Toronto Area.

Role Summary

Safety Specialists drive sales of Fisher Scientific’s safety and controlled-environment portfolio to customers in pharmaceutical and biotech production, clinical health and safety, and research and development. You will manage customer relationships, develop new opportunities within existing accounts, and ensure strong market penetration and profitability. Key Responsibilities

  • Support research sales representatives by providing technical safety expertise, product recommendations, and application guidance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across customer accounts; identify new contacts to expand reach and uncover opportunities
  • Develop and execute territory sales strategies; maintain a solid pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Conduct hazard assessments, recommend safety products, and deliver product training to customer teams
  • Monitor competitor and industry activity; track new products and incorporate insights into territory plans
  • Manage pricing within the territory to ensure profitability
  • Maintain accurate territory records, reports, and CRM data
  • Advise customers on supply trends, pricing, and inventory considerations
  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific professionally across all customer interactions

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in safety, EH&S, commerce, business administration, science or engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience, ideally in safety or controlled-environment products, or relevant industry experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of safety and cleanroom standards is an asset
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficient with CRM platforms such as Salesforce
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Background in pharmaceutical or scientific environments preferred
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits
